Toga Freight Group has become the latest member of the Pallet-Track network as the Irish logistics business looks to enhance its delivery capabilities across Great Britain.

The Dublin-headquartered freight forwarder, one of the largest privately-owned operators in Ireland, moves significant volumes of palletised groupage freight between Britain and Ireland each week through its hub at Hams Hall, near Birmingham. The depot will lead the company’s integration into the Wolverhampton-based pallet network.

Toga Freight expanded into the UK market in 2023 and operates regular departures to Ireland and mainland Europe from depots in Kent and Warrington. While the business offers next-day delivery coverage across Ireland, it said joining a pallet network was necessary to provide the same level of service throughout Great Britain.

Robert Dickinson, group chief executive officer at Toga Freight, said: “Since our major expansion into Great Britain started in 2023, we have managed to control our volumes using our own resources in the main.

“However, we needed to shorten the transit times to Ireland to a next-day service from most, if not all of Great Britain, rather than just from around our own depots, so we needed to join a network to enable that.

“We met with a few of the main UK pallet networks, but when we looked closely at what we wanted to achieve – better service, sustainability and reliability – Pallet Track came out head and shoulders above the rest.”

Pallet-Track said the partnership would support Toga Freight’s continued growth in the UK market while providing additional opportunities for its shareholder member network.

Stuart Godman, chief executive officer at Pallet-Track, said: “It was clear from the moment we started talking to Toga Freight, the collective power and success of our network appealed hugely to them and likewise their offer to our Shareholder Member network.

“Our well-earned reputation for offering service excellence and highly efficient palletised freight delivery services across the UK fits perfectly with Toga Freight’s requirements.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome them as our latest member, and we look forward to supporting them with their continued growth in the UK market. Exciting times ahead.”
