Renault Trucks UK and Ireland managing director Carlos Oliveira Rodrigues appointed europe senior vice president

Renault Trucks has announced that Carlos Oliveira Rodrigues (pictured), managing director of Renault Trucks UK and Ireland, has been appointed senior vice president of Renault Trucks Europe, with effect from 1st February 2026.

The appointment is the first senior leadership decision made by Antoine Duclaux since becoming president of Renault Trucks. In his new role, Oliveira Rodrigues will lead the European division, including responsibility for the UK and Ireland markets, succeeding Christophe Deshayes.

Over the past seven years, Oliveira Rodrigues and his team have reshaped Renault Trucks UK and Ireland into one of the group’s most advanced and strategically important European markets.

The business has delivered sustained sales growth, operational performance and innovation across both medium and heavy duty trucks and light commercial vehicles, with several UK-led initiatives now being adopted in other markets.

During his tenure, Renault Trucks UK and Ireland expanded its aftersales operations, launched Vertellus with the dealer network and invested heavily in skills and workforce development through the UK Technical Training Academy and record apprenticeship intakes.

Oliveira Rodrigues has also been a leading advocate of zero-emission transport, overseeing progress towards net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 while demonstrating the commercial viability of large-scale electric operations.

As part of the transition, Renault Trucks said Oliveira Rodrigues will oversee the appointment of a new managing director for the UK and Ireland market.

In the interim, James Charnock, commercial director, and Derek Leech, service market and retail development director, will serve as acting managing directors.
