Hanover Dairies has taken delivery of three new Isuzu N35.125 Grafter 3.5-tonne trucks, increasing its total fleet of Isuzus to more than 90 vehicles.
The new additions, featuring custom-built dropside bodies from Robinson Truck Bodies and a retro-inspired milk float livery, will operate from the firm’s Oxford depot and replace older vehicles.
The company made the switch to Isuzu in 2020, with the Grafter now a staple across its 130-vehicle fleet running from eight locations in the North East, North West and southern England.
Rob Hodgson, operations assistant manager at Hanover Dairies, said: “The Grafter is perfectly suited to our business. It’s small and manoeuvrable, yet with a payload capacity that matches the requirements of our varied delivery routes.
“Our teams must access everything from tight residential roads and cul-de-sacs to urban centres, businesses, schools and shops, and the Grafter gives us the flexibility to get to them all quietly and efficiently.”
Typically used up to six days a week, the vehicles begin early-morning rounds at 2am and operate without the need for refrigerated bodies due to cooler overnight temperatures. Mileage varies from 8,000 to 30,000 miles annually depending on location.
Hodgson added: “We operate from numerous sites across the country, so it gives us peace of mind knowing we’re never more than about 20 miles from an Isuzu dealer, even as we continue to expand the business to new areas.
“It has been clear from the beginning that Isuzu prioritises its customer service, ensuring our vehicles stay out on the road so we can keep the business running smoothly.”
Aftersales support is managed by Isuzu’s National Fleet team and delivered through regional dealers including Cordwallis Group in Oxford, Arlesey Car & Commercials in Cambridge, and Thompsons Commercials across the North.
Each new Grafter comes with a three-year unlimited mileage warranty, 24/7 roadside assistance via Isuzu Assist, and ongoing access to the manufacturer’s Customer CARE team.
