Mac’s Truck Rental is marking the 10th anniversary of its self-drive truck and trailer rental service, a milestone that reflects a decade of growth in the UK’s specialised commercial vehicle market.

The business was established in 2015 to provide flexible and reliable vehicle hire solutions for businesses ranging from independent contractors to national logistics operators.

Today it offers a wide selection of Euro 6-compliant rigid trucks, crane-mounted tractor units and trailers, with configurations including crane trucks, skip lorries, hook loaders, beavertail trucks, curtain siders and tipper-grabs.

Jeff Wright, sales director at Mac’s Truck Rental, said: “Ten years on, we’re proud to reflect both on how far we’ve come and the opportunities ahead. Our commitment to quality, flexibility and customer satisfaction remains as strong today as it was from the start, and long before that, in the early 70’s when the founding business was first established.”

He added: “By combining Mac’s Truck Rental’s comprehensive hassle-free hire service with the extensive capabilities and expertise of the wider group, we’re able to offer our customers a truly tailored unique solution — whether they need a long-term hire or a fully customised build. That’s what sets us apart — we’re not just a rental provider; we’re a complete vehicle partner.”

A new purpose-built rental centre opened in Outlane, Huddersfield in 2024, featuring a larger yard, inspection bays and offices, which has increased fleet capacity and operational efficiency.

Wright said a key differentiator is the ability to offer vehicles maintained and adapted to client needs, made possible through collaboration with Mac’s Truck Sales. Facilities available include design, fabrication, paint booths, signwriting, shot blasting and a £1m laser cutter.

The company’s fleet is supported by long-standing partnerships with leading truck and crane manufacturers, including DAF, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, MAN, FASSI, Palfinger, PM and HIAB. Mac’s Truck Rental said its expertise allows it to specialise in vehicle types that many rental firms do not have the knowledge to provide.
