Harris Maxus UK, the distributor of Maxus commercial vehicles in the UK, has reported that its electric vehicle (EV) registrations were up almost 90% in 2025, while its market share grew to 2.4%, from 1.9% in 2024.

The brand reported a 6% increase in registrations in 2025, despite commercial vehicle registrations declining by 10.3%, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

Maxus’ EV growth outpaced the general market too, growing by almost 90% as the market grew 36.2%.

In November 2025, Tesco placed an order for 750 Maxus eDELIVER 9 vans, the largest EV order in Harris Maxus UK’s history.

Steve Hunt, managing director at Harris Maxus UK, said: “These results demonstrate real progress for Maxus in the UK.

“Growing our market share to 2.4% in a declining market shows we’re winning operator confidence, and we’re committed to building on that momentum in 2026.

“Our electric van performance has been exceptional, with the 750-unit Tesco order validating our zero-emission credentials.

“But we’re equally focused on serving the full spectrum of operator needs across our entire range, whether electric or diesel.

“Looking ahead, our priority is sustained market share growth. We have the products, the dealer network and the support infrastructure to continue gaining ground while helping operators navigate both today’s demands and tomorrow’s emissions mandates.”
