CT Glass adds first Volvo trucks to fleet
CT Glass has taken delivery of two Volvo FM rigid trucks as part of a fleet replacement programme supporting nationwide glass deliveries.
Bradford-based CT Glass has added Volvo trucks to its fleet for the first time, taking delivery of two FM 380 6×2 rear-steer rigid curtainsiders.
The new vehicles will support nationwide deliveries of glass products including partitions, toughened glass and laminated glass, replacing trucks from another manufacturer.
Supplied by Crossroads Truck and Bus, the rigid trucks feature rear-steer tag axles designed to improve manoeuvrability in urban areas and restricted-access delivery locations.
Paul Smithson, transport manager at CT Glass, said: “The decision to go with Volvo came down to the strength of the brand and the way we were looked after throughout the buying process.
“When we spoke with Jason, it was clear that we could rely on a consistent level of support from Crossroads.
“That kind of clarity is important when you are evaluating a new manufacturer for a fleet that must hit demanding schedules every single week.
“The FMs have come in and done exactly what we hoped for, delivering strong fuel economy, a comfortable cab and features the drivers really value.
“The first vehicle set a strong benchmark and the second has followed the same path, which gives us real confidence as we look toward future replacements.”
