Delsol International has appointed Claire Maddock as finance director following what the business described as a successful first year of independent trading.

The North Wales logistics firm separated its international operation from the wider Delsol Group in July 2024 as part of a strategic restructure led by group chief executive Kathy Jones.

The company said it is now on track to achieve turnover of £1m in the coming year, driven by growing demand for international logistics services and continued operational expansion.

Maddock has worked within the Delsol business since 2010 and has been involved in invoicing operations and wider commercial decision-making across the group.

Claire Maddock, finance director at Delsol International, said: “I am honoured to take on this new role and continue to contribute to the success of the team. I appreciate the recognition of my hard work and dedication to the Delsol Group, and I will do my best to live up to this new challenge.

Smithurst joined the business after completing a law degree and now oversees commercial strategy and business development activity.

The business said it plans to continue scaling operations while supporting Welsh exporters and importers with international trade services.

Kathy Jones, group chief executive at Delsol Group, said: “As the business continues to grow, it remains focused on delivering high-quality, efficient services while fostering strong relationships with customers and partners.

“I am extremely proud to welcome Claire to the board, as she has been instrumental in strategic decisions within Delsol and can transfer her skills and knowledge as we scale Delsol International. Jake and Dylan make a cracking team and it’s refreshing to see such ambition, drive and passion.

“As a business, we are proud of our Welsh roots. We’re passionate about supporting local enterprise and showcasing Welsh produce on the world stage without losing the personal, customer-focused approach that has underpinned our success to date. I’m excited to be part of the journey.”
